Memorial Day Weekend

Memorial Day is all about those who have lost their lives to keep us safe. I am so thankful for all them. Without them we would not be able to live the way we do.
It was a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. We spent time with family and friends. It was very busy though. Today I am exhausted and relaxing with Ruby.

Prehistorix

Today we went to the grand opening of a reptile zoo called Prehistorix with Sue, Charlie, Jayden, Michele and Ray. It was not what I thought it would be. It claimed it was a 2,000 sq ft area. When in reality it was a small room that use to be a pet store. There is also an outside section that will have some reptiles in it during the summer, but right now it's just empty.
They had turtles, piranhas, different types of lizards and snakes, but that was about it. From the hype of it all I was expecting more. It was still fun for the kids, but you can get through it in 15 minutes. So the price I think was pretty high for that.
They did have a karate school there doing demonstrations and the kids all got to spin a wheel and got a prize. Ryan got a free Birthday Party! So that will be fun in October.

Once the kiddos were done with decorating cookies and eating chips we all went to a park to let them burn off some energy. We spent about two hours there, playing, snacks and running a muck :)

Family Photo Album

When Ryan was learning how to read I made him a photo album with pictures of all the members of our family.
I bought a inexpensive photo album from Walmart and counted the pages. There was 24 pages in the particular one I bought. Once I counted the pages I figured out the different pages.
We have 19 pages of family members and for the last pages are different relationships in a family. Like father and son, brother and sister, mother and daughter etc.
Then I went through my pictures and found all the ones that I wanted to use, and had them printed at the one hour photo at Walmart. I labeled each picture with who the person is or the relationship like I said above. I put all the names in word, printed, and cut them out. Once I glued the labels onto the pictures I just popped them in the album and it was good to go.
It was a fun project. He could put a name with the face and learn how to sound them out.
So now Ruby is big into looking at pictures and books. She will point to a picture and wait for me to say who it is. So I went and dug out the album and she loves it!

Day 30: Your highs and lows this month

The last month has been pretty good if I do say so myself.

Some highs are:
Ruby started swim lessons with Noah, and she's really enjoying it.
We have a play date once a week so Ruby and I get time with our friends.
I had a nice low key Mothers Day with my family.
The weather has been warm!
I've been exercising daily.
Everyone is healthy.
I went out to dinner with my vet clinic girls.
Josh and I have been dating for 3 years this month.

Some lows are:
I haven't been very motivated to do things around the house. I've got some big projects that I need to start.
I am having a hard time dealing with this one person, and I can't just cut them out. So trying to find ways to deal with that.
We haven't gotten pregnant yet. I think it's because of stress from the person mentioned above.
Today its raining and well that's good and bad. Good to get rid of the pollen all over everything but not great for motivation.
The trampoline place got rid of Toddler time during the week. That was a big thing for Ruby. She totally comes out of her shell there.

All in all its been a good month. There are highs and lows with everything. We are all happy and healthy and that's all that really matters.

Day 29: Goals for the next 30 days

I have a to do list as long as my arm! I'm pretty sure it's never ending. But I have set some goals that I want to get accomplished in the next month.
To start I need to get the June presents made and wrapped. That includes a baby shower gift, my sister Laura's Birthday present, Father's Day gifts for Josh, my Dad and my FIL, and I need to finish my Fathers birthday present. A lot of the gifts need to be ready for mid June so I need to start hustling over here.
I also want to have the yard all spruced up by the end of June. Which includes cleaning up the leaves that decided to come down the hill and fill up the back yard, fixing the rock wall of my flowerbed, and getting rid of all the pricker bushes around the house. They are also some other little odds and ends that I'd like to get done outside but I have a ton on my plate as it is.
And for inside the only thing I want to do is organize our basement storage room so I can turn our finished room in the basement into a playroom and a craft area.
Ok so there's a lot. I should probably get going, like last week...oops.

Day 28: Something that you miss

I miss being skinny!
3 years ago I started dating my husband. I gained 15 pounds of "happy" weight. Then we had our daughter, which I gained 40lbs with. I have lost all the baby weight but am still struggling with the happy weight.
I exercise 5 times a week, and do 10,000+ steps daily, I drink 64+ oz of water a day, and I don't eat horrible. It's just sticking around. I guess I have to do more.
It's amazing what 15 pounds can do to your self esteem. I don't feel good in any of my clothes. I did go shopping the other day with my mother and Ruby and we did find some shirts that weren't clingy, so that's helping. And I know I don't have it as bad as some people, I would just like to be comfortable in my own skin again. And I'm sure I will get there, and probably right before we get pregnant again haha.

Day 27: A problem that you have had

Everyone has problems. Some more intense than others. Most of my problems stem from me overthinking everything because that's what I do. But nothing is terrible by any stretch of they imagination. Everything is fixable with time and talking it out.

BUT...Ruby and I came across a problem last Wednesday that really ticked me off. For the last 3 months we have been going to Blitz every Wednesday for Toddler Time. It's a trampoline place. She absolutely loves it. Well we pulled in last week and they are closed. They have changed their hours and got rid of Toddler Time during the week completely. They did not tell us anything when we were there the week before, and we chat with the employees and they know who we are. We are the regulars! Needless to say I was very unhappy and sent them an email. Well I have not received a reply and don't think I will. Talk about professional. I don't think we will ever be going back there. Boycotting them for now.
So today Ruby and her friends are trying out a new place (new for them), called Rumble Tumble. We will see what it's all about. I hope Ruby enjoys it.

Day 26: What kind of person attracts you

Lots of people have a type, and I don't think I have one. But I might and I just don't know it. The type of person that attracts me is someone who is genuine, and kind. Someone who I can talk to about anything. It's someone who is smart, and caring. They have to love animals if not I will show them the door. That is a deal breaker.
They have to have respect for me, other people and themselves. They need an awesome personality and a huge heart. They need to be like my husband :)

Day 25: Someone who fascinates you and why

When I first saw this topic I wasn't sure who I was going to write about. I took some time and thought about it and came up with a couple of people.
Ellen DeGeneres fascinates me. She seems like she is such an amazing person, with a huge heart. She gives so much to people in need and I really respect that. I love how she surprises people with things that they need and would never be able to get. She really cares, and you can tell it's genuine. You just can't fake that. Her show is funny and if I am in a bad mood can put it on and just forget about the sadness and laugh.
She is a real person and I'm sure that she has had her share of hard times, and she is still so positive.
One day I will make it to one of her shows tapings. Until then I will watch it and keep laughing.

Day 24: Your favorite movie and what it's about

My all time favorite movie ever is Ten Things I Hate About You. It is a modern day remake of Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare. "A new kid must find a guy to date the meanest girl in school, the older sister of the girl he has a crush on, who cannot date until her older sister does." Quote Via IMDB
So they set her up with the bad boy of school (Heath Ledger), but she has no idea that he's being paid to date her.
Great movie! It came out in 1999. And in 2000 I got sick. I must have watched this movie a hundred times that year. Just a feel good movie that could always make me smile. Plus Heath Ledger was in it and I love him. ;) I definitely recommend watching it if you hadn't seen it before.

Day 23: Post 5 pictures of famous men that you think are attractive

I went through my "Men" eye candy board on Pinterest and picked these 5. I am actually surprised at my choices...there were a few to pick from, and narrowing it down was hard. Some that I have loved since I was a teenager did not make the cut, and some newer fellas did. Strange...
Ryan Reynolds - will always love him
Heath Ledger - another high school crush. So sad that he's gone :(
Charlie Hunnam- his beautiful face, the beard, and abs.... Just wow
Ian Somerhalder - loved him since Lost and started watching the Vampire Diaries because he was on it.
Joseph Morgan - saw him first on the Vampire Diaries and then he went to the Originals, now I watch both.

I could go on and on. :)
Happy Friday!
