Apron

Now that I am a stay at home mom I've been trying to make everyone in my family something for their birthdays. This year I started planning a little late and missed a couple :( I'll catch up with them for Christmas.
I will attempt to make anything but trying to find the perfect thing is my challenge. My sister Gillian's birthday is next week and she is pretty tough to shop for. I have been wanted to make myself an apron for sometime now so I decided that I would make one for Gillian first. Her boyfriend does all the cooking but it will still be cute even if it's just for decoration.
She really loves Harry Potter so I found the cutest Harry Potter apron on Pinterest. It was posted on a blog called Dirt, Lace & Love. I used what she had done as a template and switched some things to make it my own. For my first apron I must saw I'm pretty happy with how it came out :) We'll see what Gillian thinks of it at her Birthday Party tomorrow!

Growing like a weed

Ruby is starting to grow out of her 18 month clothes so it was time to take a trip to Kittery Maine! My mom and I found some amazing clothes at Carters and Osh Kosh for Ruby, and even some jeans for Josh at the Lucky Outlet. We always make a morning of it. Shopping and then some lunch.
We found an adorable bathing suit for Ruby for swim class, which she is starting in around 6 weeks. You never leave empty handed when you go into Carters! And at Osh Kosh we found the cutest little spring jacket. (Mind you it was 17°F here today, but we were Spring clothes shopping.)
Thinking warm thoughts here in NH!!!!

Happy Thursday

It has been a busy week. Lots of running around. Finally found a second to be able to sit without having worry about the 20 things I've forgotten to do. Looking at my list for tomorrow I know that it will be a busy day with no breaks. That's a typical day for me. Go go go until it's time for bed.
And as I write I realize that I have no topic to write about, I'm just rambling. My mind is mush right now!
So happy Thursday! And I hope everyone has a relaxing weekend! I really need one.

Rainy Day

Today was a great day. Ryan did some homework in the morning and then we all just hung out. It has been cold and rainy since I got up so a vegging out day it was. We watched TV, read stories, had a visit from a friend, and played with practically every toy in the house.
Usually our weekends are filled to the brim with errands, parties, play dates, or family and friend visits. So it's nice to take one day and relax. Ok well I didn't completely take it easy, it's not in my blood, I did a bunch of laundry. Which is taking it easy for me.
Now to get dinner ready and get everything ready for the birthday party we are going to tomorrow.
Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

One Year Ago...

Well it has been a year since I started this blog! Crazy how time flies. It has been an amazing year. Ruby is learning new things everyday and surprises me all the time. She is one smart cookie. I am so lucky to be able to stay home with her while she young and see all the firsts and teach her all the things she needs to know at this age. To help her learn and blossom into the awesome little girl that she is. I get to do all of that because of my wonderful husband. Without him it would not be possible. He really is the best!
In the last year I've become pretty good at sewing and make home cooked meals every night of the week. The house is also pretty much clean and the laundry is always done. Even though I am not working right now I feel good about what I contribute to our family :)
I love writing on here even if no one follows it. I like to be able to express myself and share things I've made, or places we've been. This is my me time. This is one thing that is all for me. And that is rare these days, everything is for Josh or Ruby. I love my family and I love taking care of them. So this is for me, even if no one sees it :)

Home Is Where You Are

Josh just got home from Italy. Ruby and I are so happy that he's home. It feels like an eternity when he's gone. I find myself counting the days until he's home again.
He brought gifts too! Wine made in Italy for me and toy Ferraris for Ruby :)

Blitz

We had an awesome play date today at Blitz with 3 of Rubys friends. It's a trampoline park inside. The floor is lots of small to large trampolines. Ruby wasn't sure at first and then she really got into it. She ran and jumped all over the place. When it was time to leave I had to go and get her and she was not happy. She wanted to keep jumping, running and playing with her friends. So needless to say we are going back next week for longer. I have never seen her have that much fun. She really came out of her shell.
